[Me and Honda] #0041 Family restaurant delivers food with Honda Cub |

Today, just like every other day, this Honda Cub loads up with orders of piping hot noodles for delivery from HOSOSHIMAYA, a famous old Soba noodle restaurant run by the same family for three generations. Located near SHOGI (Japanese chess) Hall in Sendagaya, Tokyo where top-ranked players gather to compete and test their skills, HOSOSHIMAYA has been in business for more than 40 years. The shop, sporting a nostalgic facade, is sandwiched between high-rise office buildings in a quiet section of town. The entrance is adorned with a traditional indigo blue curtain, and sitting out front is a seasoned Super Cub fitted with a food delivery rack. Everything is just the way you'd expect it to be! “We've been using this Cub for nearly 30 or 40 years,” says owner TSUYOSHI HOSOYA who works with his son SHINGO and grandson TAKATO at the restaurant. The motorcycle has been the favorite of all three generations. For some reason, more and more people have recently been remarking, “Hey, that Cub is pretty cool!” HOSOJIMAYA serves ramen as well as soba, and the curry rice bowl is the dish of choice of a certain well-known young shogi player when he’s competing at the nearby SHOGI Hall! “Because we're a soba restaurant right in the middle of the city, I think it's a given that we deliver,” says SHINGO. I hear the purr of the Cub coming down the street, and a delicious smell wafting through the air. Hmmm, I think I'll send out for some soba, too. https://ift.tt/2E1waoV
