【大津事故】直進の軽自動車運転の女性(62)を釈放　滋賀県警

”軽乗用車は直前に、右折してきた普通乗用車と衝突し、この弾みで歩道に突っ込んだ。同署はいずれも自動車運転処罰法違反（過失運転致傷）容疑で、軽乗用車を運転していた無職下山真子（６２）＝同市若葉台＝と、普通乗用車の同新立文子（５２）＝同市一里山＝両容疑者を現行犯逮捕した。
　
２人とも量販店での買い物から帰宅する途中で、いずれも「信号は青だった」と供述。下山容疑者は「車が（車線に）入って来たので、あわててハンドルを左に切った」と話しているといい、同署は、双方とも前方をよく見ていなかったとみて、容疑を過失運転致死傷に切り替えて詳しく調べる。

２台には同乗者はおらず、両容疑者にけがはなかった。現場に目立ったブレーキ痕はなかったという。”

80代男性の運転する車が池袋の交差点で暴走し、30代の母親と3歳の娘が命を落とした事故で、高齢ドライバー問題が注目を集めている。お笑い芸人のカンニング竹山さんが「免許剥奪よりも効果がある」と考える、ルールとは。

　最近、高齢ドライバーの事故が多いのは確かだと思うんです。70歳とか75歳とか年齢を決めて、免許を取り上げるべきだという主張が盛り上がっているみたいだけど、果たして「取り上げ」で良いんだろうか。相手は大人ですよ。あまりに無視しすぎていないかと思うんですよね。

　それなら、75歳以上はマニュアル車限定にすればいいと僕は思うんです。マニュアルなら、気が動転したり、操作を間違ったら車は止まっちゃうから、ああいう事故は起きないし、難しいから乗らないっていう人が自然と増えてくると思うんです。

　僕は車の運転が好きなんですが、免許はオートマ限定なんです。マニュアルの免許を取りに行ったら、周りから「時間がかかるだけ」「クラシックカーに乗りたいとか、よっぽどの理由が無い限り乗る機会がない」って止められて、途中でオートマに変えて、受講料の差額も返してもらいました。路上を走ってみて、やっぱり必要なら取り直せばいいと思ったんですよね。そしたら何の不便もない。

　いまはレンタカーどころか、そこそこ良いスポーツカーでも「新車はオートマ車しかない」ってこの前、車屋さんに言われました。マニュアルに切り替えられるものはあるんですけど、基本はオートマなんだそうです。

　僕みたいな人って、結構多いと思うんです。そうすると、マニュアル限定になったらお金も手間暇もかかるから、免許を取り直すってことはほぼ無くなる。実質的な免許返納になる。だけど、本当に乗りたい人にとっては可能性がゼロじゃない。その方法が一番良いんじゃないかと思うんですよね。

　昨今、この問題はテレビでもいろいろと議論されているけど、一つおかしいと思うのは、加害者になった高齢者側の意見が取り入れられていないこと。テレビに出るのはだいたい現役世代だし、池袋の事件でも現役世代とその子どもが被害にあっているから当たり前だと思うんだけど、本人たちの考えが一つも入ってないのは変だと思うんです。

”中国の自動車メーカーは日本や欧米の物まねばかり――。まだそんな認識を持つ人は多いようです。しかし、今や世界最大の自動車市場の中国では、様々な地元メーカーが、独自技術の車を次々に売り出しています。日本ではあまり伝えられない中国メーカーの実力はどれほどのものなのか。４月の上海国際モーターショーを取材した記者が、中国の街を歩きました。

若者が集まる、上海の大規模ショッピングセンター。スターバックスの世界最大級の店があることで知られるこの一角に、今年１月、ある自動車ブランドのショールームがオープンした。

　新興の電気自動車（ＥＶ）ブランド「ＢＹＴＯＮ（バイトン）」の初のショールーム。４月半ばに訪れると、展示車「Ｍ―Ｂｙｔｅ」の周りには外国人も興味深そうに集まり、写真を撮っていた。

　目を引くのは、運転席と助手席の前を横幅いっぱいに埋めた細長い画面だ。サイズは５０インチ近くで、大画面テレビのようだ。

　地図や走行速度、音楽などの情報が表示され、ハンドルについた小型タブレットをドラッグやスワイプして操作できる。自動車ショーで「未来の車」として展示されるようなデザインだが、２０１９年中に量産をはじめるという。

　ＢＹＴＯＮは１６年、日産自動車の高級ブランド「インフィニティ」や独ＢＭＷの元幹部らが共同で創業した。米フォードやテスラ、グーグル、アップルなどの出身者もいる。

　「政府の支援も大きい」と案内員の女性は説明する。「量産を始める南京の工場は、南京市からの強力なバックアップを受けました」。車は米国の家電見本市などで注目を浴びたが、今回は「おひざ元」の上海ショーには出展しなかった。「いまは量産を控えた大事な時期だから」という。

著名サーキットで新記録
　ＢＹＴＯＮのショールームからほんの数分歩くと、別のＥＶメーカーの販売店があった。「蔚来汽車（ＮＩＯ）」。ここも政府の支援や、優秀な人材の確保で急成長した注目株だ。
